Denise Barnes, aka Molly Green, has sold lipstick in a Denver store, modelled in Atlanta, assisted the UN Narcotics Director in Geneva, chauffeured a Swiss Gnome in Zurich, assisted a famous film producer in the UK, and cooked in a sanatorium in Germany, giving rise to her first book: FROM BAD TO WURST: Bavarian adventures of a veggie cook (PenPress pub. 2008).

She sold her estate agency business in 2005 to a pair of fraudsters and SELLER BEWARE: How Not To Sell Your Business (Biteback Publishing 2013) was the result. 

Now writing historical romance as Molly Green, with all her novels published by Avon HarperCollins, she has written a trilogy set in Liverpool in a Dr Barnardo’s orphanage during the Second World War.  AN ORPHAN IN THE SNOW  (2017); AN ORPHAN’S WAR (2018) and AN ORPHAN’S WISH (2018) all topped Amazon’s Military Romance category and earnt her a loyal fan base.  

Molly’s trilogy THE VICTORY SISTERS explores the fates and fortunes of three sisters in the Linfoot family during the Second World War. A SISTER’S COURAGE (2019) tells the story of Raine who becomes one of the few female pilots delivering planes to the fighter pilots and chancing upon love. A SISTER’S SONG (2020) follows Suzanne as she finds self-confidence and the uplifting power of music in wartime. A SISTER’S WAR (2021), has Ronnie, the youngest sister, learning the ropes on the narrowboats carrying essential supplies between London and Birmingham and realising the value of female friendship.

Molly Green’s latest series, THE BLETCHLEY PARK GIRLS, brings the shadowy world of Bletchley Park, headquarters of the codebreakers in the Second World War, into focus. SUMMER SECRETS AT BLETCHLEY PARK (2022) has Dulcie Treadwell cracking German codes on the Enigma machine whilst desperate to hear from her American sweetheart who’s been sent to Berlin. In A WINTER WEDDING AT BLETCHLEY PARK  (2022) Rosie Frost faces a terrible betrayal and throws herself into unravelling Italian naval codes . . . until someone from the past walks back into her life.
