Mary Gwynn trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine and then as a cookery journalist at Good Housekeeping. She went on to become the founding Editor of BBC Vegetarian Good Food (1992–96) and the Editor of M & S Magazine for two years. She now works as a consultant editor to Waitrose and various magazine publishers. A devotee of the Aga since Mary and her family moved to a Sussex farmhouse, she is at present writing THE COMPLETE AGA COOKERY COURSE. Much more than a collection of recipes, it offers a real understanding of how an Aga works and what it cooks best by a highly intelligent cookery writer. Mary is now working on THE WORKING MUM'S COOKBOOK, the first of three books commissoned by Simon & Schuster, which is set for publication in Autumn 2011.
Mary and her husband, designer Derek Slatter, and their family now live in Kent, in an old oast house, from where she and Barbara Morgan are running Aga cookery courses.
